AYPN ASEAN Advocacy

(AYPN Advocacy in Jakarta In June 2025, AYPN and partner)

CSOs/NGOs met in Jakarta with ASEAN, UN, EU, and diplomatic stakeholders. The delegation highlighted the plight of over 200,000 Rohingya confined to camps since the 2012 racial and ethnic violence, now facing renewed displacement and denial of aid in Sittwe. AYPN also raised grave concerns over the junta’s heinous crimes against humanity and widespread human rights violations across Myanmar, particularly against women and children.
AYPN and partners called for urgent humanitarian access, gender-sensitive coordination, recognition of women’s role in peacebuilding, and international support for Myanmar’s democratic transition and accountability.
